The uproar from moving the TransWorld convention to Chicago in January has apparently been heard loud and clear by the exhibit company. The dates for next year's International Halloween Costume and Party Show have been changed to March 6-9, 2009
However! For the 2009 Haunts and Attractions Show it states only "Information Coming Soon!"
Is it possible that the dates and location for this Haunted House section of the TransWorld convention will be different from the Halloween Costume Show?

A lawsuit claiming injury at the Bettendorf Jaycees haunted house has settled, court documents show, while the organization works to rebuild from disbanding as a Jaycees chapter.
The lawsuit was filed in October 2006 by Brenda Day, who said she fractured her leg on a slide in the haunted house.
The Jaycees is now known as The Greater Bettendorf Community Foundation, said president Don Wells. It hopes to grow its membership as it continues to put on the Halloween and Fourth of July parades, an Easter egg hunt and baskets for the needy at Christmas and Thanksgiving.
“It’s been a struggle.

My dear friends,
It is with a broken heart that Tim and I must tell you that we have lost our beloved son Cody. He passed away in his sleep, in a house fire, on Monday evening, Feb. 25th, in Portland, OR.
His 29th birthday is this Thursday, March 6. He was greatly loved and admired in Portland; for his artwork, his kindness, his heart, his huge spirit, his strength and his leadership. If you Google Robert Reuwsaat you will find quite a few articles and forums about him. He also has a page at www.myspace.com/Mr. Cody .
A Memorial Fund is being set up by fellow haunters in Cody's name, and many tributes and dedications are planned all over the country.
Cody leaves a 7-year-old son Ian, who lives in Port Orchard, WA with his mother and step-dad. He also leaves a grieving brother Jarad, who is 26.
A Memorial Celebration for Cody is planned for Tuesday night in Las Vegas during the TransWorld Convention. Details will be provided on this web site when they are locked down. Everyone is welcome; you may bring pictures and memories to share, if you wish.
Please Inbox me if you need more information. www.myspace.com/darkwingmanor

America's Premier Halloween Event Will Add a New Attraction- |

|
(Philadelphia, February 2007): Planning is well under weigh for the 2007 season of Terror Behind the Walls, presented by Lukoil. The creative team is currently mapping out ambitious plans for a new attraction inside the historic Cellblock Twelve, a three-story wing added to the Eastern State Penitentiary in 1911. The Sci-Fi Channel's program "Ghost Hunters" declared the cellblock haunted in 2005.
The new attraction will be the largest and most sophisticated design yet at Terror Behind the Walls. It will incorporate custom-built animatronic props, high tech lighting effects, digital sound and several special effects currently being designed for the space. The overall effect will create the illusion that walls of metal bars and cell doors are electrified.
The creative team is currently preparing architectural and mechanical drawings for the attraction. Construction will begin on June 5, and will continue throughout the summer. The name of the new attraction will be LOCK DOWN.
"The most important thing is to keep the character of the architecture," said Jason Ohlsen, Technical Director for Terror Behind the Walls. "Whatever we add has to look like it's been here for a hundred years, literally. And we always try to leave the building untouched, when possible. Nobody can create better set designs than the natural environments of Eastern State Penitentiary."
Terror Behind the Walls will open on September 21, and run selected nights through November 3. Tickets will go on sale September 13. All proceeds support historic preservation at this National Historic Landmark. The Penitentiary is located at 22nd Street and Fairmount Avenue, just five blocks from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. More information is available at (215) 236-3300, or on the website at www.EasternState.org.

Midnight Syndicate Films has announced its first cast signings for the upcoming supernatural horror thriller, The Dead Matter, directed by Edward Douglas (Midnight Syndicate) and produced in coordination with Robert Kurtzman’s (KNB FX, Dusk Till Dawn) Precinct 13 Entertainment.
Andrew Divoff (Wishmaster, Air Force One), who was seen most recently as the eye-patch- wearing villain, Mikhail Bakunin, on ABC’s Lost and will be seen in the upcoming film, The Rage, will be joining the set of The Dead Matter as the character, Vellich, after completing work on a new, untitled, Steven Spielberg movie that is scheduled for release in May of 2008.
Vellich’s arch-nemesis, Ian McCallister, will be played by Jason Carter whose career spans everything from his renowned portrayal of Marcus Cole on Babylon 5 to characters on shows like Beverly Hills 90210, Angel, Charmed, Third Rock from the Sun, and in films like Demon Under Glass.
Horror-FX legend Tom Savini (Dusk Till Dawn, Dawn of the Dead), a fixture in the genre for over thirty years and seen most recently as Deputy Tolo in Grindhouse, will be portraying the devious vampire overlord, Sebed.
After wrapping production on his upcoming film, Ghouls, in April, producer Gary Jones (Xena, Army of Darkness) and producer, Edward Douglas, began pre-production for The Dead Matter. Principal photography will begin this August in Mansfield, Ohio.
The FX team at Precinct 13 has already begun work on what promises to be a visual treat for audiences. Photos and teasers will be available in the next month.

Submarine ride returns to Disneyland! |

Reinvented as the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, the long-dormant and eagerly anticipated submarine attraction immerses riders in a 12-minute journey through a coral reef, exploding volcano and shark-infested wreck as they search for the orange-and-white clown fish of movie fame. With its impressive animation and spotlessly reconditioned bright-yellow submersibles, park-goers might just forget that the area of the theme park containing the ride — which Walt Disney himself helped conceive — was nearly paved over.
